Duration of DVT.: The duration of DVT depends on many factors-the extent of the clot and the veins involved.Larger veins involved and more extensive clots will take longer to resolve. About one third of clots will fully dissolve, one third will cause long term vein blockage and one third will narrow the vein and new veins will form around the narrow vein.rThe usual duration of DVT ranges from 3 months to one year.
