I had a hellers myotomy 6months ago. all healed. yesterday i sneezed and now have a super sharp pain under 1 scar. painful to move, cough, and sneeze. have i done damage? pain is ontop is ontop of left rib area. pain is sharp on movement?

Vigorous sneeze may injure or crack the sternochondral joint next to the scar and it give you the feeling of rupturing the scar tissue which unlikely happens 6 months post op and for sure the pain has nothing to do with the esophagus. You just need to take ibuprofen (advil) OTC for a couple days then you will be fine. This event has nothing to do with surgical scars 6 months post op. Take care.
