I have 3 cafe-au-lait spots and no other symptoms. i am 30 years old and have a healthy 3 years old daughter. could my spots be a sign of nf1? should i be concerned? can nf1 manifest at my age?

By adulthood if you only have 3 you would not be considered either afflicted or a candidate for genetic testing to see if you carry the gene. A healthy number of cases arise as new autosomal dominant mutations so having a parent with the disorder is not necessary to express the defect. If you are concerned, have a dermatologist look you over for all the many other findings. I would not worry about
