I have three cafe au lait spots ranging from 1-3cm.they are very hard to see. i just found one today. no other nf1 symptoms. could this still be nf1?

Unlikely: Unlikely because of not enough spots.There are different definition, but 6 or more sports greater than 1/4 inch size is a standard.So not probable.

Cristeria for nf1: 1.At least six café au lait spots or hyperpigmented macules, at least 5 mm wide in children younger than 10 years and 15 mm in adults.2.Axillary or inguinal freckles.3. Two or more typical neurofibromas or one plexiform neurofibroma.4optic nerve glioma. 5.Two or more iris hamartomas lisch nodules seen by slit-lamp examination.6.Sphenoid dysplasia or typical long-bone lesion.7, first degree relative.
