A member asked:

Whats the risk of osteoporosis from fludrocortisone at a dose of 0.4mg per day?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Osteoporosis is multifactorial so it is difficult to answer your question. You need the fludrocortisone is why it is prescribed and you could counterbalance the effect it may have by good nutrition and exercises to maintain your bones. Adequate vitamin D and other measures may not allow the effect of fludrocortisone on the bone to be significant enough. It is not just the dose but also duration.
