Flourinef: Mechanism of action salt and water retention expands blood volume. Will cause weight gain because water weighs eight pounds per gallon. Prevents blood pressure from dropping. Generally does not work on as needed basis. Will need to discuss with physician possible lower dosage or every other day. Must be individualized to control symptoms and side effects.

Dizziness: Florinef (fludrocortisone) is typically not used for dizziness except when someone has low blood pressure on standing up. The medication does cause water retention and hence weight gain.
