A member asked:

Good morning doctors. my friend was in contact two days ago with someone who tested + for covid. he tested yesterday and was negative and he feels fine. he will test again tomorrow. isn't this too soon to test for covid? shouldn't you wait 5 days?

He can certainly test now and see if he tests positive. He can test test 5 days post-exposure as well to be certain this exposure did not lead to a positive Covid infection. Is your friend vaccinated? If so, the chances are he will have minimal symptoms even if he does end up with an infection. Hopefully, he will continue to test negative. If he is unvaccinated, encourage him to get vaccinated.
