Can the vagus nerve be damaged from lithotripsy or removal of a parathyroid adenoma?

The vagus nerve is vulnerable to injury in parathyroid surgery, not as much as thyroid surgery.

Although damage to the vagus nerve secondary to surgery is quite rare, nonetheless, an extensive procedure may eventuate in this complication. Lithotripsy would not be a potential to cause vagal dysfunction.
