A member asked:

Ive had a recent blood test, and theres a result that is elevated that im trying to understand: fibrine d-dimre 1.12 ug/mlfeu . im sorry its in french. im just confused with this results. normal is 0-0.55?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

When D-dimer gets elevated, it can mean many things. There would be a reason why the doctor ordered it to look for something. Ask the doctor to find out. It can be elevated for many reasons: blot clot, heart attack, stroke, COVID-19, severe infections, post surgery, liver disease, kidney disease, cancer, normal pregnancy for some of the reasons. Bonne chance!
