When D-dimer gets elevated, it can mean many things. There would be a reason why the doctor ordered it to look for something. Ask the doctor to find out. It can be elevated for many reasons: blot clot, heart attack, stroke, COVID-19, severe infections, post surgery, liver disease, kidney disease, cancer, normal pregnancy for some of the reasons.
