A member asked:

What is the recommended follow up interval for colonoscopy if initial (baseline) colonoscopy revealed 1 polyp and follow up colonoscopy (4 years later) had none? does a follow up normal colonoscopy reset subsequent interval to 10 years?

It really depends on your risk factors for colon cancer as well as the pathology of the polyp. The GI doctor who did your colonoscopy will know these details and will be able to tell you the recommended time interval for your next colonoscopy based on these factors. Good luck to you!

We need to know more details to answer this question. The type of polyp, how advanced it was, how big it was, and your family history would all be pertinent information to know. Your G.I. doctor should be able to answer this question readily for you. Good luck.
