What could cause heart to race every morning when i first wake up. i have sleep apnea and use cpap. i also take a beta blocker?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Are you taking the beta blocker to treat hypertension? In the early morning hours our bodies gear up with release of cortisol hormone which raises BP & elevates heart rate. Your beta blocker may be wearing off at that time. Taking it a bedtime may obviate this reaction. Check with your MD to see if he/she agrees.
