You don’t need to fast to check a phosphorous level. A low phosphorous level can lead to muscle weakness. There are phosphorous supplements you can take so, if the level is still low when it is re-checked, your doctor can place you on a supplement. This does not typically lead to heart rhythm issues. Good luck to you!

If you're in good health low phosphorus usually doesn't lead to serious ventricular irritability, but in view of your history of V TACH, you should correct your low phosphorus level with appropriate supplement as has been advised by Dr. F as low phosphorous levels have been shown to cause polymorphic v tachycardia & other arrythmias in intensive care patients.
