I have been experiencing fullness in my chest that is relieved after burping. i do not have burning or abdominal discomfort. these symptoms seem to disappear while i am sound asleep. what can i do relieve them and what is causing these?

There is not enough information here to make it firm diagnosis. It is certainly possible that this could be a manifestation of Gerd. A simple test might be a two week course of effective acid control, such as omeprazole, to see if it helps. If it does not, then see your doctor. Good luck.
