Problems with lipolysis can be seen with obesity, type 2 diabetes, fatty liver diseases and cancer. It is best to be assessed for any of those diagnoses and then treated for them. Insulin decreases lipolysis and with type 2 diabetes especially. The patient keeps producing insulin but it is not effective because they have resistance to insulin. The high insulin causes lipolysis impairment.
