A virtual consult with Healthtap is available. Are you an asthmatic? If so, discuss whether you need inhaled steroid medication or another inhaler that combines a long acting bronchodilator and steroid in one inhaler. On the day of the procedure, have an examination of your lungs. The next steps in your management are then determined. Watch for signs of shortness of breath and if worsening please.

This is a free information site. With these symptoms, you need to contact the office of the gastroenterologist and your primary care physician for specific advice. In general, someone with wheezing and shortness of breath needs to be stabilized before having a colonoscopy.
