A member asked:

Can an mri scan show what's causing my brain fog ? or is it more of a chemical issue that cannot be seen on such a scan?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

"Brain fog" is a nonspecific term that includes problems with attention, executive function, language, processing speed, and memory. Many different underlying disorders can cause this, from sleep deprivation to vitamin deficiencies, to Long COVID-19. A complete evaluation might include a brain MRI, but an answer is not guaranteed. See a neurologist.
