My mom recently had surgery. shes 85. she developed 4 tiny blood clots. is on elooquis. is having indigestion. is that a side effect and will that go away. wont be on it long term. ty?

What kind of surgery did she have? Indigestion is not a typical side effect of Eliquis but it could be an effect from the surgery or anesthesia. If it continues, she should let her surgeon know about it. Meanwhile, eating soft bland foods may be helpful. Good luck to both of you!

Eliquis is a blood thinner and can cause internal bleeding, indigestion is a very non-specific symptom and the recent history suggests possible constipation contributing to her symptoms. Work up will be needed in order to better understand what might be causing her current symptoms, best to start with her primary care doc and/or surgical team.
