A member asked:

I am 27 year female. as part of my pre employment medical test, i went for ecg that said low qrs amplitude and rs inversion area bw v1 and v2. the report said probably abnormal ecg. is it a reason to worry? i have no heart ailment history?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The sensitivity of the machine was set Likely high. The low QRS complex can be due to fluid around the heart called pericardial effusion but you would have other symptoms too. RS inversion in V1 and V2 is a normal variant seen when set high. When the machine is set at normal sensitivity those changes can mean a heart attack. So machine will read as abnormal but in young healthy is not. No worry.
