Hi doctor. can a suspected ectopic pregnancy still show as a negative in a urine pregnancy test at 5 weeks? or will it generate enough hcg to give a positive?

I wonder if you count 5 weeks from the last period or from the conception time. Five weeks from the conception time or three weeks after missing period, most of the time the morning urine sample should be positive. It may be still negative if you miss period for only one week. Get blood test done if you have any doubt and go to ER if severe abdominal pain +/- bleeding occur. Take care.
