How can i get a bead out of my babys nose?

Very carefully: Be very careful about how you try to remove a bead from your baby's nose. Using tweezers often ends up pushing it further into the nose. Gently squeezing the nose from above the bead will sometimes push it out. Your doctor may use a suction tip to grab the bead and pull it out, or fashion a short wire (or paper clip) with an "l" bend to get past the bead and pull it out from behind.

With a pro's help: The only safe way is to have a medical professional remove the foreign object from the nose. Too often parents try to remove something that a child has stuck up their nose only to end up pushing the object more deeply up the nose.

With a MD's help: If your child has placed a bead up his nose it's probably best to bring him to the doctor. Your pediatrician (or maybe an ear, nose and throat doctor) has specialized tools to help get the bead out. It's also a good idea for the doctor to look for more beads potentially hiding in the other nostril or in your baby's ears.

Doctor's sm. forceps: A doctor can use a small forceps (with teeth on the end of it for traction) to grab a bead that is stuck in the nose. If that doesn't work, one may need a trip to the ear-nose-throat clinic to see the specialist.

Grasp it: If you can see it and grasp it with your fingers then do so, if not see your doctor.

See your doctor: If your baby has a bead in his nose, i would bring them to your doctor's office to take it out. The concern if you try to take it out at home is that he may aspirate it into his lungs and that can be very serious. Doctors also have a variety of tools to try to get it out.
