Have lupus & was dignosed with arthritis lumbar spine. is it common for arthritis of lumbar spine to worsen with sitting and improve with movement such as walking? mine does. and can arthritis of spine cause leg radiculopathy?

Movement and/or exercise can indeed symptomatically relieve arthritic joint pains temporarily. If lumbosacral spondylosis progresses, foraminal encroachment can compress nerve roots upon exit, but associated degenerative disc disease could result in rupture and nerve root compression as another mechanism.

It is possible having orthotics can (sometimes) help by taking pressure off the lower back while standing and walking. A podiatrist can help in this area. Can be very effective.
