There are many non-medicinal techniques for handling anxiety which can be learned through a good counselor who specializes in this problem. Meditation, exercise, adequate sleep, and cognitive therapy have all been shown to help. I would begin by asking your primary doctor for a referral to someone for your anxiety. Good luck.

Anybody's hypertension can be controlled if they're willing to take enough medication assuming lifestyle changes aren't effective & chronic stress and tension aren't issues. Do not let your blood pressure to remain elevated. If your MD can't control your hypertension, consult a cardiologist for evaluation & treatment.
