: Rather than ear wax, you may have irritation,inflammation/infection of the external ear canal. An examination with an otoscope would be helpful in making a diagnosis. Prescription ear drops containing antibacterial, antifungal &amp; corticosteroid anti-inflammatory effects may be prescribed depending upon the findings of the exam.
