Your friend either has delusional thinking or is psychotic. Your friend needs to see psychiatry and get treatment. There are medications to control this-sometimes this can be part of depression and this needs treatment. So, help your friend by encouraging him/her to seek medical help. Good luck!

Paranoid ideation is likely and unfortunately the resulting deep, strong beliefs are hard to even question. Medication is not likely to help, however having a comprehensive medical evaluation should help in ruling out possible medical contributing factors.

Find out why she thinks she is being watched. Did she allegedly do something illegal? Now console her and gain her trust and refer her to a therapist for help. Don.t allow or encourage her to seek medication without consulting with a doctor.
