Is it safe to stop xanax .5 daily for 3 weeks cold turkey? it got me through a rough panic episode time, but now ready to stop the medication. i called dr but hes on vacation and wont be back for another week.

Xanax: If you were only taking 0.5 mgs once a day, I doubt significant withdrawal symptoms would occur.If they did you would resume it (1/2 tablet) and then gradually taper off it by skipping one day, then 2 days and then off.
