Although stool type 5 isn't normal, you do not yet meet the criteria of chronic diarrhea. By UPTODATE: "chronic diarrhea is defined as a persistent alteration of stool consistency from the norm with loose stools (consistency between types 5 & 7 on the Bristol stool chart) and increased stool frequency of greater than three stools daily of at least four weeks' duration". Try small meal & BRAT diet

For some people, 2 to 3 bowel movements per day in the type five range of stools can be normal. Certainly antibiotics can change your stool. If it is due to the antibiotics, it is likely that you will graduate return to your previous normal pattern. Eating a lot of fiber can be helpful. If you notice that you are getting worse diarrhea or see blood, contact your doctor. Good luck.
