Bacterial vaginosis, one of three common infectious causes of vaginal discharge, result from displacement of normal vaginal flora (protective bacteria). Your vaginal smear still revealed preservation of normal flora which makes bacterial vaginosis unlikely the cause of vaginal discharge.
