I had a vaginal swab done i thought i had bacterial vaginosis i am extremely hygienic however i do have ibs d the test results were negative but showed no lactobacillus why?

Bacterial vaginosis sometimes is not an all or nothing diagnosis. Borderline BV cases can have some characteristics (like absent lactobacillus) but not others. If you have strong vaginal odor and perhaps gray-white discharge, treatment for BV probably is worth a try. If not sure of your doctor's expertise in this area, find a gyn who sub-specializes in infectious diseases. Good luck.
