A pregnancy test is based on the measurement of human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG )levels and is usually positive 3-4 days after implantation , and definitely 7 days post implantation. For home pregnancy urine tests, the usual recommendation is to take it after the first day of a missed period .If the period still does not start it can be repeated in a week or confirmed by a blood test.
