A member asked:

After a tarsalmetatarsal ligament strain with bone seperation, is weight bearing allowed?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not if you want the ligament to heal. The ligament will heal with scar tissue not ligament tissue. Thus the ligament will be weakened. Stretching of the ligament can produce instability and then your muscle strength is your only protection against further injury . If a ligament has been injured allowing healing will provide greater stability
