A member asked:

I quit smoking 3 years ago, but ive become addicted to nicotine lozenges which helped me quit. is there a benefit for quitting the consumption nicotine? what are some short term side effects that ill see? what are long term benefits for quitting?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

You have a craving that you need to address to successfully stop replacing one addiction with another. You decide if it is beneficial for you to quit consumption of nicotine since it does not nourish your body. You could taper the use of nicotine lozenges to nothing after you find yourself and love yourself regardless of external love. It is good to have stopped smoking and the poisonous part.
