It depends on what you mean by impaired. If you mean a motility disorder, the 2 are not related. But, candida esophagitis can lead to ulcerations. It also causes painful swallowing, difficulty swallowing and chest discomfort. Those are the main symptoms/complications of candida esophagitis. If you have this, see a GI doctor for treatment.
