I'm a fan of checking the iron binding capacity level. If it's elevated it's proof positive that you have iron deficiency& iron supplement is recommended even if there's no anemia as yet. Checking stool for occult blood & having your screening colonoscopy are important in iron deficiency at your age as I assume you're not menstruating. Past years of menstrual blood loss can cause iron deficiency
