Aspiration....: Aspiration is when something is inhaled into the airways. Symptoms of aspiration include shortness of breath, cough, etc. If a foreign body is inhaled, infection can occur and symptoms of this include fever, cough productive of mucopurulent sputum, etc. If you are having any of these symptoms, see your doctor and get a chest x-ray. If not, you probably swallowed the pill.

Tablet anxiety: It sounds like your breathing now, as you type your question, is normal. If your airway were obstructed, you wouldn't be breathing comfortably. Rather, you would like be unconscious. If you were coughing, your breathing were labored, or you had trouble breathing at all, call 911. If you have anxiety or trouble swallowing pills, try asking your doc about crushing your pills or liquid medication.

Swallowing: If anything gets in your airway other than air, it causes you to cough. Please take your pills with water -- makes them much easier to swallow that way.
