Hello, i was taking an advil capsule and as i was swallowing felt the water going down the wrong pipe. since i was mid-swallow i kept going, and then coughed a bit after it was over. is it possible that i aspirated the pill too along with the water?

Protective mech.: Usually the protective mechanism protecting the swallowing process would prevent such things. The whole point of the cough is to expel things like pills, preventing them from going into the lungs. Besides, I'd think you'd have more symptoms of you truly aspirated - shortness of breath, chest pain for example.
