There is a major interaction between cymbalta and cyclobenzaprine so you should avoid this combination. Furthermore, I do not think cyclobenzaprine can give extra analgesic effect. If you are not taking prescribed analgesic you can take OTC ibuprofen or naproxen (2 tablets at one time) as needed until cymbalta takes effect, provided you do not have stomach or kidney problems. Take care.

Trust your doctor has provided advice to avoid mixing a number of medications with Cymbalta and would not advise using cyclobenzaprine at all. Also, would agree that the latter is of no utility for analgesia. Return to your doctor and discuss appropriate medications which might work for fibromyalgia.
