Will cyclobenzaprine, neurontin and cymbalta (duloxetine) alter the results of an emg test on lower extremities? and also, what exactly is that test used to determine?

EMG: Those medications shouldn't alter the EMG test. The test looks for nerve damage and looks at muscles that may be affected by damaged nerves.

No: An EMG nerve conduction study is used to evaluate nerve and muscle function and can detect nerve compression (pinched nerves) and nerve or muscle diseases. The results are not affected by your pain level, pain medications, muscle relaxants, or antidepressants.

Not at all: These medications do not affect testing results for EMG or NCS/NCV's.
