13yo daughter having headaches daily. doesnt always need pain meds to feel better and doesnt have any other symptoms when she gets them. she is well hydrated, and has eyes checked yearly. nervous its something bad? should she get ct scan?

CT and MRI scans are worthwhile when the exam points to their being a real possibility of something found. Headaches by themselves are not and unlikely to ever get passed the insurance companies pre-authorization monitors.

Ideally, a visit to a pediatric neurologist would be appropriate management. The headaches if due to childhood migraine, will become more intense and more frequent if "pain meds" are used consistently, and Chronic Daily Headaches could ensue. A clinical history and exam may uncover causation and provide a route to breaking up this emerging pattern.
