The stool does not always turn white after barium as this depends on many factors including the amount of barium used. Keep yourself well hydrated and avoid constipation. The barium may not have passed yet but it likely isn’t stuck. If you remain concerned, see your doctor.

If your stool has not turned white after gbarium ingestion, it does not mean that the barium is stuck. It could have just mixed in with the regular color of the stool, or may not have passed yet. If you begin having abdominal symptoms that are new, see your doctor. Good luck.
