If the pancreatic elastase test of my stool was in normal range- what exactly does this mean? are my intestines functioning normally then?

It means you are OK: Pancreatic Elastase is an enzyme produced in the pancreas. Its purpose is to help digest food, specifically proteins. It is not broken down during the trip from the pancreas to the stool. If you have a normal pancreatic elastase, then it means that the digestive function of the pancreas (exocrine pancreas) is working well. The endocrine pancreas makes insulin and this is not addressed by that test
