Agree with Dr. Pasniciuc, stone analysis is the best way to confirm. In general, calcium oxalate stone is the most common type, almost 70% of all stones. Without stone analysis, base on our experience, stone location, stone appearance of plain X-ray, urinalysis and blood test result and patient's comorbidities, we can predict with relative accuracy of stone type most of the time.
