How often should a woman have a mammogram?

3 doctors weighed in across 3 answers

It is recommended that women who are 50 to 74 years old and are at average risk for breast cancer get a mammogram every two years. Women who are 40 to 49 years old should talk to their physicians and discuss if they should start mammogtams earlier than 50 based on their own personal risks.

This is likely determined by what Physician feels necessary, based on examination.
