It is recommended that women who are 50 to 74 years old and are at average risk for breast cancer get a mammogram every two years. Women who are 40 to 49 years old should talk to their physicians and discuss if they should start mammogtams earlier than 50 based on their own personal risks.

In general for prevention and with normal mammograms and exam every 2 years, however any abnormal finding or mammogram may change frequency and goals to diagnosis.
