There have been studies that have linked stress with shortend telomeres. Telomeres normally shorten with age and so speeding up the shortening process is thought to be associated with cellular aging, risk for heart disease, diabetes and cancer. So any stress in your life from before birth onward can have this affect, childhood bullying and anxiety disorders included.
