Gerd since 2003 and dysphagia 2020. normal egd july '22, normal manometry sept '22, abnormal egd feb '23. can yeast and hyphae present in middle third esophagus cause irregular z line and a very tight ues on egd? what is hyphae?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

There is more to what is going on than the information presented. It is not usual to have this frequent EGD especially when they were initially normal. The hyphae is just a different form of yeast meaning you have candida esophagitis which is not usual unless there is underlying immune compromised state. Infection would cause abnormality of the mucosa especially if it is being long course.
