It mostly causes heart burn and unlikely to cause shortness of breath unless some complications happen from it. For peptic ulcer disease, you should take the heart burn medicine omeprazole or pantoprazole twice daily and avoid over the counter pain meds, avoid eating spicy ,hot food and avoid smoking, excess alcohol consumption. Rest is up to your GI doctor for further follow up.

Unless you were having problems with bleeding, it would be unusual to have dyspnea related to a peptic ulcer. If your stools are black or tarry or bloody, see your doctor immediately. Otherwise, follow the prescribed treatment for your presumed peptic ulcer. Good luck.
