Can a do provide internal medicine care?

A D.O. or doctor of osteopathic medicine is a licensed physician, and able to practice in all areas of medicine. DOs have extra training in the musculoskeletal system and are trained to look at the structure-function relationship of the body, in addition to learning everything that MDs learn in medical school.

Yes, there are lots of DO’s practicing in internal medicine and subspecialties, training along side MD’s and getting certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
