A member asked:

Not sure if i am saying this correctly, but if tendon transfer surgery is possible after an initial tendon surgery on a patient's hand/finger, can it be done using the same incision from the previous surgery?

It really depends on a lot of factors like what tendon was initially operated on, which tendon is being transferred, how long was the original incision, etc. The best person to answer this question is the surgeon doing the tendon transfer surgery. That surgeon will be able to see the original incision and will know if that same site can be used for the proposed tendon transfer surgery. Good luck!
