This is only a mild elevation, but it certainly needs to be followed up to be sure that everything is OK with the liver. Even a slight elevation of liver enzymes such as an ALT should have a complete lab work up. Serious liver disease may have only minimally elevated liver enzymes. Testing should be done for viral hepatitis iron overload and prothrombin time. A complete history should be done for medication’s toxins, alcohol use and family history of liver disease.
