Usually twice a year i will wake up in the middle of the night bc my right eye will randomly burn and drip tears down and will become red. this lasts for 10 minutes but will feel gritty the next day, is there a reason?

I don’t have any explanation, since this occurs so infrequently. Do you wear glasses, contact lenses. Do you have your eyes examined on a yearly basis. I would ask an Ophthalmologist about your concerns.
