Likely Dry Eyes: The most common cause of random burning and red eyes is dry eye. Allergies can have a similar appearance but you usually know the cause. Dry eyes can present as burning, stinging, watery, or bloodshot. If it persists despite several days' use of artificial tears 4 times per day I would recommend you see an eye doctor
